1935-A Experimental "S" $1 Silver Certificate Fr. 1610 - Very Fine 1861 So those are the highlightsSignatures: Julian & Morgenthau (S) During the tenure of Julian and Morgenthau, a different type of paper was used for part of the 1 Dollar notes series of 1935 A. An "R" and an "S" were used as control letters and were surcharged in red on the obverse of the notes. The "R" stands for Regular Paper and the "S" stands for Special Paper.
