Helmets graded for combat use did not have any holes present (although some were used on the Home Front)

One of the cross straps is coming loose but these were often removed to enable the bag to be worn more comfortably as an everyday bag rather than a gas mask bag

this particular item features on the front and rear cover a trench map dated 4 May 1917 and covers Givenchy-Les-La-Bassee

Three of the photographs are taken out side the same barracks hut

De Pass (the Colonel later scrubbed out as he was promoted as a temporary Colonel)
