Symcox worked for Beswick between 1933 and 1942 and was a freelance sculptor who exhibited at the 1934 British Industry Fair. The vase is glazed in a beige colour in the upper area with drips of blue, yellow, green and red blended together around the bulbous base of the vase. The top of the vase is pinched so as to form a slight hourglass shape.
