You dont have to play them on the field, it doesnt even matter what your opponent has on the field at that point

If you dont sleeve all of your aspect cards at all times (we dont!), you can get away with far fewer sleeves, and the bare minimum you can go with is 2 boxes of 100 sleeves, which is enough to sleeve 2-3 (possibly 4, depending on the size of the encounter deck) hero decks and an encounter deck with some change
